Don't fall for a "Con" in construction or feel funny about telling a contractor you will get back to him after verifying his or hers contractor’s license. You are not saying, “I don't trust you.” You are simply protecting yourself and your family from construction gone bad.
If the contractor you are dealing with is licensed, he or she will be very pleased that you are doing your homework because every day the contractors that we depend on for turning our lights back on, fixing a leaky roof, building our home, fixing leaky pipes, installing a new kitchen, etc. are losing work to the unlicensed contractors.
